IDBZ Projects
As part of the IDBZ’s mandate and mid-term strategy (2016-2020) focus on development of infrastructure in various sectors of the economy which includes housing, energy, transport, water & sanitation and ICT sectors, the Bank, in direct response to the Cholera outbreak, partnered the City of Harare in providing necessary emergency interventions on the core infrastructure in the most vulnerable areas and nodes.
Existing on-campus student facilities at BUSE are not adequate to meet the increase in the number of students enrolled at the institution.
In a bid to enhance revenue collection from electricity sales, ZETDC resolved to migrate from the post-paid system to prepaid and smart metering systems. The project entailed installing 800 000 prepaid metres throughout the country
This is an expansion to the existing Hydro-Electric energy plant by ZPC and is expected to cost US508 million. The EPC contractor is Sino Hydro and the expansion exercise will see two generating units being constructed with the capacity to generate 300 MW of power.
The Osborne Dam Mini-Hydro project will generate 2.5 MW of power and the project site is approximately 35km from Mutare. The expected project cost is US$6.7 million.The project will generate 16 644 MWh of electricity annually.
This project is located in Harare, near the existing Marimba suburb and is expected to deliver 340 serviced stands, with 202 high density stands and 138 medium density stands.
The project is targeted at developing 704 low density residential stands, 26 service industrial stands, 24 institutional stands and 16 commercial stands, 5km outside Masvingo town along the Masvingo – Beitbridge highway.
IDBZ has identified a potential housing scheme in Partnership with a Private Housing Developer in Mt. Pleasant, Harare. The project would entail the servicing of low density residential stands, commercial stands, institutional stands and estates on a 119 hectares piece of land.
Bindura University of Science Education project includes design and construction of halls of residence to cater for students IDBZ as the financing partner
The first phase of the Bank’s university accommodation project seeks will involve the construction of Students Halls of Residence at Lupane State University, National University of Science & Technology and University of Zimbabwe.
